A beautifully conceived pair of Art Deco earrings in which the gold is modeled with remarkable sculptural plasticity. The softly domed discs carry a flowing Yin–Yang symbol in raised bas-relief, giving the small earrings unexpected depth, movement and tactile character.

The surface has been delicately satin-matted using a fine finishing technique. This restrained matte glow allows the polished curves of the relief, the red rubies and the white diamonds to stand out with exceptional clarity rather than being overwhelmed by a highly reflective surface.

Yin and Yang symbolize the balance of opposites, inner harmony and the way contrasting forces complete one another. Here that idea is expressed through the meeting of warm red rubies and cool white diamonds, light and shadow, polished relief and matte gold. The circular composition suggests continuous movement and unity.
